Description
- REVIVA Jaw Motion Rehab System is a user-operated device designed to rehabilitate jaw motion.
- It facilitates orofacial muscle exercises and opens the jaw to stretch oral-facial tissues and mobilize the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), promoting mouth opening and increasing jaw mobility.
- Addressing Trismus, Oral submucosal fibrosis (OSMF) and scarring or fibrosis resulting from radiation therapy, surgery, trauma, betel nut, and tobacco use.
Indications: (Follow your doctor’s advice)
- Screening of chewing tobacco users – to assess mouth opening.
- Submucosal fibrosis patients and betel nut users.
- Trismus from various causes.
- Post-surgery for cancer & after trismus release interventions like cordectomy.
- Conservative management of trismus through mouth exercises and antioxidants.
- Radiotherapy for oral and oropharyngeal cancer.
- During oral cavity surgery or dental work requiring mouth opening.
Contraindications:
– Recent surgery
– Severe mucositis
– Jaw fracture
– Infection
– Osteoradionecrosis of the jaw
Normal Range: 35mm to 50mm
Trismus: Mouth opening less than 35mm
Caution:Do not use if you have osteoradionecrosis or a fractured jaw. If you experience unexpected pain while using the device, discontinue use immediately and consult your attending clinician.
